Igor Chernyavskiy M.D.
Dr. Igor Chernyavskiy has been in practice since 1999 and is a clinical instructor in Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook. He is certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Avram Gold M.D.
Dr. Avram Gold is an attending at the Sleep Disorders Center at SUNY at Stony Brook. He has been in practice since 1986 and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at SUNY Stony Brook. He completed Sleep Medicine
Fellowships and is Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine, and Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Gold is also Board Certified in Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Gold
is nationally recognized for his research in upper airway resistance
syndrome. His practice in Sleep
Disorders concentrates on patients who are aged 14 and older. For

Catherine Kier M.D.
Dr. Catherine Kier has been in practice since 2000, and is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at SUNY Stony Brook. She is Chief of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy and Immunology as well as the Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Center at SUNY Stony Brook. Dr. Kier completed her fellowship in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. She is Board Certified in Pediatric Medicine, Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and Sleep Medicine. She specializes in pediatric sleep disorders. Dr. Kier’s sleep research interests are development of upper airway in children, obstructive sleep apnea in children, obstructive apnea in Down’s syndrome, sleep disorders in juvenile fibromyalgia as well as sleep disorders in children with HIV. Jorge Mallea M.D.
Dr. Jorge Mallea is board certified in Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Rebecca Spiegel M.D.
Dr. Rebecca Spiegel is a neurologist, who completed her fellowship in Neurophysiology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She now subspecializes in epilepsy and sleep. She has recently began her practice at SUNY at Stony Brook and is an assistant professor of clinical Neurology. Her research interests include sleep disorders in patients with neurological diseases (epilepsy, migraines, movement disorders and multiple sclerosis).
